Pilates
The various levels that we offer in Pilates will allow you to learn the terminology while understanding how the body moves, and controlling the movement through your core muscles. As you progress from level to level the challenge of each exercise will increase by adding variations to the exercise as well as multi-joint movements. By the time you reach level III you will have an excellent sense of where your body is in space (ideal posture).
Small Apparatus
This intermediate to advanced level classes will use a different balance tool each week, e.g. stability ball, foam roller, stability cushion and Gliders. You will challenge your deep core system while strengthening and lengthening your muscles and conditioning your neuromuscular system.
Power Pilates III
In this class you will move quickly and continuously while working every muscle in your body. Be prepared to sweat and work hard. Most exercises are performed either standing or supporting one’s body weight with upper body support.
Please Note: not suggested for those with joint issues (shoulder, knee, etc.) or back problems. Also, you must have a good knowledge of core engagement as there is very little instruction.
Small Group Personal Training
With a maximum of 4 people, this class will truly provide personalized attention. We will use weights, the BOSU and other challenging small apparatus throughout the 5-week session. We will work hard, while including exercises that provide functional “primal” movement such as squats, lunges, twisting, pushing, and pulling that keep our bodies functioning the way living was intended. A great weight-bearing class!
Pre-requisite: must have done Level II Pilates.
